Online CMEMS Training workshop for the Mediterranean Sea, July 2020

The POSEIDON team participation to the workshop concerns two important components within Copernicus Marine Service:

A) MED-waves modelling products: with Anna Zacharioudaki presenting during the 1st day of online sessions the regional forecasting model and the available products. Anna Zacharioudaki along with Gerasimos Korres, Michalis Ravdas and Dimitra Denaxa were constantly supporting with their scientific expertise the attendees during the training period by answering questions and providing assistance. In this context, a training video was also recorded and provided to the participants in order to get them familiar with the Med-waves products while guiding them step-by-step through wave data analysis in selected test cases, using Python programming language. 

B) MED In Situ Observations: Maria Sotiropoulou from HCMR along with Paz Garcia Rotllan from SOCIB presented the regional products of Near Real Time and Reprocessed In Situ observations in Mediterranean Sea. Along with the expert interventions by Leonidas Perivoliotis, the attendees during the training period had the capability to exchange questions and share best practices.
